So yesterday I wore this really nice perfume by Estee Lauder (it was called Beautiful). It's strong, but I only wore a little. Now today my throat is more than raw, sore, and I'm coughing up a storm. Same symptoms as a cold, but my nose isn't stuffed or anything. Just a really bad sore throat. I lost my...

Both my father and I have that same thing. I use to work at A&F where they literally have fog machines that spray out cologne like every hour. Bleh! I always came home with a sore throat. My dad coughs and gets a sore throat every time my mom wears perfume. I've found that using an allergy pill the day before or the morning of work helped so I guess it's just allergies.

Find out what's in the perfume.

    1. It's just a councidence.
    2. You are allergic to an ingredient (your body sets off am immune response when the chemical is present.
    3. The perfume contains a chemical that you have a sensitivity to (your system does not protect itself well from one of these chemicals, no immune response resulting in cell damage)

You might be surprised about how many toxic and carcinogenic chemicals are in perfumes, colognes, cosmetics, shampoos, just to name a few.

You can energy test it! You can see how your energy systen reacts when you are on the presence of the bottle, holding it for example. GooGle search "Donna Eden energy testing" & find the procedure.

The test is simple, with a partner you do a muscle resistance test after resetting your system as a control, and then have your partner retest you holding the bottle. If you test very weak, it was likely the perfume that caused your soar throat. If so, I'd see about returning it.

You are probably allergic to an ingredient in the perfume. Allergic reactions can look a lot like cold symptoms, except you don't get a fever.

It sounds like you could be allergic to one of the ingredients in the perfume. This has happened to me before. I have bad allergies and some perfumes like with a lot of flower extracts or scents trigger that. I'd read over the ingredients and see what was in it, maybe you are allergic to something in it.

Hi- Alaura-I wear Estee Lauder. I use to use Beautiful. It was way to strong, my eyes would water and I would cough a lot. It is heavily concentrated. I switched to "Pleasures" Perfume and Muse Body Lotion! Try them, they smell really nice. But don't use them both at the same time :)

You probably have an allergy to that fragrance. Do you have any other reactions when wearing fragranced lotions of using detergents with perfumes?
