There are multiple ways to set up any proportion problem. Yours works.
Personally, I like the variable in the numerator. It saves a step in the solution process. Just multiply by the denominator number to solve.
.. x/450 = 50/35 ... ratio of dollars = ratio of hours
.. x/50 = 450/35 ... dollars per hour = dollars per hour
You can also put the variable in the denominator.
.. 35/450 = 50/x ... hours per dollar = hours per dollar (your version)
.. 450/x = 35/50 ... ratio of dollars = ratio of hours
After you work a few of these, you will recognize the solution is always
.. x = 50*450/35 ... hours * (dollars/hour) = dollars
50/35 x $450
10/7 x $450
$4500 / 7 = $ 643_____to nearest whole number
x/50 = 450/35
--->x = 450*50/35 = ...calculator
